Sharing My Journey Through Two New Books on Healing and Growth

Publishing a book is a deeply personal journey. I recently completed two books that reflect different parts of my own healing and understanding. One is The Emptiness Within: Understanding Cravings and Rewiring Your Nervous System to Fill the Void with Life. The other is Grief is Love with Nowhere to Go, a heartfelt guide about the loss of my child—the book I wish I had when I was navigating that difficult time.
Both books come from a place of experience and hope. They explore how we can face pain, loss, and cravings, and find ways to heal and grow. I want to share a bit about these books, what inspired me, and how they might help you or someone you know.

The Emptiness Within: Understanding Cravings
The Emptiness Within explores the deep feelings that drive cravings. These cravings might be for food, substances, or even emotional comfort. I wrote this book to help readers understand what’s really behind those urges. It’s not just about willpower or discipline. It’s about rewiring the nervous system to respond differently to stress and emptiness.
Understanding Cravings and Rewiring Your Nervous System
Cravings often feel like a void inside us that needs filling. But what if that void isn’t empty? What if it’s a signal from our nervous system asking for something deeper—connection, safety, or meaning?
In The Emptiness Within, I explain how cravings are linked to our nervous system’s response to stress and trauma. When we feel unsafe or disconnected, our body looks for quick fixes. These quick fixes might be food, alcohol, or other habits that temporarily soothe us but don’t heal the root cause.
The book offers practical steps to help you:
Recognize the triggers behind cravings
Understand how your nervous system reacts to stress
Use simple techniques to calm your nervous system
Replace unhealthy cravings with fulfilling life experiences
For example, one technique I share is a breathing exercise that helps shift your nervous system from fight-or-flight to a calm state. This simple practice can reduce the intensity of cravings and help you feel more grounded.
If you’re interested in exploring this further, Inner Depths Hypnosis in Adelaide offers hypnotherapy sessions that complement the ideas in my book. Their approach helps retrain the nervous system and supports lasting change. You can learn more about their services here.

Grief is Love with Nowhere to Go
Grief is Love with Nowhere to Go is a very different book. It’s raw and personal. It’s about the loss of my child and the overwhelming feelings that come with grief. I wrote this book because I wanted to offer comfort and guidance to others who are walking through similar pain.
Navigating the Loss of a Child
Losing a child is a heartbreak unlike any other. It leaves a space that feels impossible to fill. In my experience, grief is not something you get over. It’s love that has nowhere to go. This book is about holding that love and learning to live with the loss.
I share my story openly, along with practical advice for coping with grief. Some of the key ideas include:
Allowing yourself to feel all emotions without judgment
Finding ways to honor your child’s memory
Building a support system that understands your pain
Using gentle self-care to nurture your healing
One thing I wish I had when I was grieving was a community that truly understood. Inner Depths Hypnosis also offers grief support through hypnotherapy, helping people find peace and strength during their darkest times. Their compassionate approach can be a valuable part of your healing journey. More details are available here.
How These Books Connect and Support Healing
Both books deal with deep emotional challenges—whether it’s the emptiness that drives cravings or the profound loss of a child. They share a common goal: helping you find life and meaning beyond pain.
You might wonder how these ideas fit together. The nervous system plays a big role in both cravings and grief. When we experience trauma or loss, our nervous system can get stuck in a state of stress. This affects how we feel and how we cope.
By learning to calm and rewire the nervous system, you can reduce cravings and ease the pain of grief. This is why hypnotherapy and other calming techniques are so helpful. They work with your body’s natural healing ability.

Taking the Next Step in Your Healing Journey
If you’re facing cravings or grief, know that you are not alone. Healing is possible, even when it feels far away. My books are here to guide you through understanding your feelings and finding new ways to live fully.
