Walk Talk Therapy

Our Approach

Walk & Talk Therapy

Sometimes sitting in a room and talking just feels too much.
Walk & Talk Therapy offers a gentle alternative.

Walk & Talk Therapy takes place outdoors while we walk side-by-side, rather than sitting face-to-face. This often feels more natural, less confronting, and helps thoughts and emotions flow more freely.

Movement supports the nervous system, reduces stress hormones, and can make it easier to talk about difficult or complex experiences. Many clients find they open up more easily while walking, without the pressure of constant eye contact.

This approach is especially helpful for:

  • Anxiety and chronic stress

  • Overthinking and mental overload

  • Low mood or emotional heaviness

  • Trauma and PTSD (when appropriate)

  • Feeling stuck or disconnected

  • Clients who struggle with traditional “sit and talk” therapy

Sessions are relaxed, supportive, and tailored to your pace — both emotionally and physically.

Mindful Walks

Mindful Walks are guided outdoor sessions that combine gentle movement, awareness, and calming techniques to help settle the mind and body.

These walks focus on:

  • Bringing awareness into the present moment

  • Regulating the nervous system

  • Reducing stress and mental fatigue

  • Reconnecting with your body and surroundings

  • Creating a sense of calm, grounding, and clarity

You don’t need to meditate or “clear your mind.”
Mindfulness here is simple, practical, and accessible — noticing your breath, your steps, sounds, and sensations in a way that feels safe and natural.

Mindful Walks can be:

  • A stand-alone therapeutic session

  • Combined with hypnotherapy or coaching

  • Used as ongoing support for stress, anxiety, and emotional regulation

Why Walks Work

Walking gently engages both sides of the brain and helps the body release tension. Being outdoors supports emotional regulation, perspective, and a sense of space — physically and mentally.

For many people, walking side-by-side feels safer than sitting across from someone, especially when discussing sensitive topics.
